About James Baddeley Consulting

James Baddeley Consulting is a dynamic consultancy providing a range of business solutions to voluntary and community sector organisations seeking improvement and growth.

Led by James Baddeley, our aim is to provide a one-stop-shop for charities and social businesses who face a wide range of challenges and opportunities.

We work independently or, for some assignments, in partnership with a range of consultant partners, maximising our portfolio of skills and tools to help solve your organisational problems and support you to go on achieving in the future. With one of our partners, eg:consulting, 11  years ago James also set up a community interest company now called Civil Society Funding CIC to provide infrastructure support to smaller, less financially secure VCSE organisations; and James continues to be an associate of the organisation today.

James Baddeley Consulting’s specialist areas of work are:

  • Business planning
  • Income generation strategy development
  • Support in writing tenders and funding bids
  • Consultation, evaluation and impact reporting
  • Setting up and initial management of new projects and services
  • Creation of compelling marketing and promotional materials

About James Baddeley

James Baddeley has spent the past 23 years working as a consultant and in senior management positions for dynamic charities and social businesses, delivering growth and excellence in each. Allied to this he also spent three years as a regional committee member for the Big Lottery Fund, distributing grants of £10 million per year.

This charity sector experience is combined with earlier experience of commercial sales and marketing, a background which provides him with a strong understanding of the business principles needed for organisations to be successful and profitable – vital knowledge for charities in today’s climate.

He is a fully certified member of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising, having been awarded their Diploma in Fundraising Management in 2012, and is one of the Institute’s approved consultants. He also has an Advanced Certificate in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Until October 2014, he was a trustee of the Charities Evaluation Services, formerly the UK’s leading provider of support and advice on quality and evaluation systems for the voluntary sector (now merged with NVCO 31st October 2014).
